Dairy
development scheme, Nagaon was established in the year 1986-87. An amount of
Rs.6.5 Lakh was sanctioned for implementing the said scheme, land was allowed at
Bebejia 7 K.M. away from this
Nagaon town. The construction work of Office building, Staff Quarters and one
chilling plant building was started and completed the works in the tear 1990.
During the period from 1986-87 to 1990, the office was started from a rented
house at Nagaon and on 31st December90 , the office was shifted
from rented house to its own building at Bebejia.
The Govt. gave sanction of the following post for smooth running of the
scheme at the beginning stage.
One post of Dairy Development Officer.

One post of Rural Diary Extension Officer.

Tow post of L.D. Assistance.
(3)
Tow Office Peon.
(4)
One Chowkider.

ACHIEVEMENT SINCE 1986 ONWARDS :
In
the year 1990, the Department purchase one Milk Chilling Machine and installed
at Bebejia Chilling Plant building with a view to stant milk collection and
distribution. Since that this scheme started milk collection and distribution
works with the help of the manpower of R.D.E.C. , Hojai as no staff and budget
was sanctioned by the Govt. till now for running the milk supply scheme
smoothly. Any how this scheme with the own interest without any Govt. sanction
of fund and staff started milk procurement and distribution for last few years
below.

Since
21st/98 onwards milk supply to the public could not to continued due
to no fund position as the milk supply scheme was not sanctioned originally till
now. The milk suppliers could not get this price of milk in time for which they
stopped supply of milk to the scheme.
Meanwhile
all the plant machineries and vehicles were out of order due to lack of fund.
But
the on going project under the Diary Development activities such as distribution
of cross bred Jerscy Milch Cows among the SC, ST. people, Cross bred Heifar
distribution works among the SC/ST and general people is going on regularly,
with a view to produce more milk is the district which will create more Diary
Co-operative Societies resulting the all-round development of the particulars
locality of the district. This scheme distributed the Cross bred Jerscy Cows
/ Local Cows is the district as below.
